Extended Profile
I am a displaced Canadian. Once upon a time I had a big, white dog named Ebumu. He didn't read much, but when he received a bone that was just too delicious to eat it threw him into a state of nervous confusion for a day or so. I had to be careful. The
sorts of books that do that to me are clever nonfiction--stuff by Oliver Sacks, The Spirit Catches you and You Fall Down, and Nickled and Dimed. I also like magical South American fiction, Canadian fiction, and things that flirt with the
Booker Prize (but not the
Pulitzer, so much). I am a biologist, so I also read about biology and the environment. But I often burn out on science reading through my work so I tend to read other things at home, including stuff about food, and anything wondrous.
Sad to say, I'm burned out on bookcrossing right now.
