Once I finally had a chance to sit down and read this during a busy November, it went very fast. Already a fan of Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" and "The DaVinci Code," this book didn't disappoint me. It was fast paced and exciting and I enjoyed reading it.

OK, finished! This was a fairly decent book, but with too many twists and turns! Seemed a concentrated effort to keep us interested in a story that would have been rather uneventful ending otherwise, and we both figured out the secret code! LOL! Sent to the next person in the Book Ring: SDKelley from Missouri 3-30-05 via media mail. Happy Reading!

Caught it safe and sound in Brooklyn. Perfect timing as I just finished a book I was reading. :)

Journal Entry 13 by shpriz1 from Clifton, New Jersey USA on Friday, June 3, 2005
I liked the book. It was a little confusing for me sometimes with all that computer talk, but I still liked it. I'm surprised it took them THAT long to find that kill code. I picked up on it right away. But, that's how books are...:)
Thank you for including me.
This book is on its way to ResQgeek

Journal Entry 14 by wingResQgeekwing from Alexandria, Virginia USA on Friday, June 10, 2005
Arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm almost done with my current book, and I'll read this next.

Journal Entry 15 by wingResQgeekwing from Alexandria, Virginia USA on Saturday, June 18, 2005
What would happen if everyone suddenly had access to an unbreakable code? This is the nightmare scenario that the National Security Agency (NSA) faces in this lightning-fast thriller. The NSA is tasked with breaking the codes of the nation's enemies to protect the nation's security. When a new, supposedly unbreakable code emerges, the NSA races to recover the security codes to keep the code a secret. From the streets of Seville to the NSA headquarters, the tension builds as time runs out, until a climax that almost destroys the nation's security forever.

Dan Brown writes with authority, and much of what he describes is quite believable. Unfortunately, the climatic ending turns out to be the weakest part of the story. In order to build the tension, Brown's characters, which to this point have been portrayed as quite intelligent, suddenly develop an epidemic of stupidity. Their inability to solve the final riddle quickly actually detracts from the impact of the conclusion. Otherwise, this is a thrilling story, the book equivalent to the summer blockbuster movie: Full throttle entertainment, but very little depth.

On its way to Europe! Enjoy!

Journal Entry 17 by Argoitz on Thursday, June 23, 2005
I just got this from the mail, thanx SqueakyChu & ResQgeek, I'm looking forward in reading it, I loved the Da Vinci Code and I'm reading Angeles y Demonios. Will try and read it fast, and then release it to the otherbookcrosser in line. Obrigado. See ya.

p.S. Loved the postcard from Alexandria, Virginia, by the way.

Journal Entry 18 by Argoitz on Tuesday, October 18, 2005
First of all I must apologize for taking so long with this book. I simply loved it, but I have to practice on my english because of all the computer terms I found on this book. I've found all the Dan Brown books very captivating and every chapter leaves you intrigued to read the next one. I'm not going to tell you about the story, due to spoilers, but the narrative is well constructed and the suspense is high. Not as good as Da Vinci Code though, with all the computer terms, but I loved it. I will be sending this to the other bookcrosser in line == QueenSissi ==. PCSAF is unavailable at this time to read it. Thanx again SqueakyChu. :)

I think this one was more interesting than the others "well-known" books by Dan Brown.

The idea of my emails and messages being read by the NSA is kind of frightening, though I'm afraid they'd be bored to death...

Nevertheless, I do enjoy privacy and I just hope this is just a novel.

Thanks and moving it on this week...

News 17/12/05 - Dodau asked to be skipped so I'm wainting for Pink's address.
News 28/12/05 - sent it to PinkManager.

Journal Entry 24 by PinkManager from Athens - Αθήνα, Attica Greece on Saturday, April 8, 2006
The 4th book by Dan Brown I read..It was very good when talking about entertainment, but if you've already read the other books by this author, you'd have understood how I feel..Dan Brown writes using a recipe.I mean that he uses the same techniques of attention grabbing in every book.Just don't read them one after the other, because you will get the feeling that you are reading the same book, only with a different plot and slightly different characters. All the above are true for Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code too, but I liked these a bit more because of the art history references.

Mailed to kiyoitsukikage this morning..

Have just finished another ring book 'The Secret Life of Bees'. So I started this book last night. I think I will enjoy this as much as the other two that I have read.

It's quite a big book, but think I can read it in between 1-2 weeks. But will keep you posted.

Have finished!!! I loved this book...as I thought I would! It is so easy to dip in and out of it with it's short chapters. It kept you in suspense just like the rest of his books.

Someone has just sent me a RABCK Dan Browns Deceoption Point!! Think I might read that next!!
The Da Vinci Code has just come out in the cinema in the UK so I am hoping to go and see that in the next couple of weeks.

Am sending this on as part of the 2006 Keep Them Moving.

Have PMed Vicar-of-Dibley for her address but haven't heard anything yet. Will pop it in the post as soon as I have it.

12/05/06 - Have Vicar-of-Dibleys addy now so I will pop in in the post first thing Monday. Enjoy.

Thanks to SqueakyChu for this fantastic Ring.

was on my desk at work today i've not been in the office at the hospital since last Monday so it's probably been there a few days.
My colleague advised me just to pass it on without reading as it's pants and then he went into computer speak about everything dan Brown got wrong.
But I'll make up my own mind just finished my last ring so will start this tonight

Journal Entry 34 by vicar-of-dibley from Aberdeen, Scotland United Kingdom on Saturday, June 3, 2006
i kept on trying for a bit but i just won't subject my poor brain to this anymore and i'm passing it on mostly unread. i found it to be old lady pants with skid marks, sorry. I've pm'd the next person on the list to take it away asap

Journal Entry 35 by marko167 from Sitges, Barcelona Spain on Monday, June 19, 2006
Received the book a week or so ago and am sure I registered its' arrival, but apparently not. Ho Hum thanks VoD.

Journal Entry 36 by marko167 from Sitges, Barcelona Spain on Monday, June 19, 2006
I have now read three of Brown's books and this is the second turkey. It is simplistic, far fetched and has far too many coincidences to be believable. I found his descriptions of Spain and the Spanish at best insulting, at worst racist. He does have a market available though for chewing gum for the brain. As long as you don't want to think about what your reading then this is a very easy one day book.

This book arrived in the mail today. I am in the midst of trying to get thru the Harry Potter books and another series. I will sneak this one in next week and send it on it's way. By the way, this book is getting a bit worn from it's travels. It's still readable, but looks loved. I will post later.

If I hear from Squirrel818 in the meantime, I will read it quickly and send it off.
