'The sleepy town of Heartsdale, Georgia, is jolted into panic when Sara Linton, paediatrician and medical examiner, finds Sibyl Adams dead in the local diner. As well as being viciously raped, Sibyl has been cut: two deep knife wounds form a lethal cross over her stomach.
When a second victim is found, crucified, only a few days later, it becomes clear that Sibyl's brutal murder wasn't a one-off attack. What Sara and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver are dealing with is a seasoned sexual predator. A violent serial killer...'

This was a good and gripping thriller. Maybe too cruel and scary violence at some points for my liking, but a story well written with profound character descriptions. I might try some other Karin Slaughter's books after this experience.
Moving forward to someone who picked this up from a mystery book game.

mystery book arrived today, will give it a try, although don't like thrillers that much (too sensitive ...)
Thanks to bookgeo for putting this in the pile, would never have looked at it otherwise ;) and I don't mind about marks in books, that makes them more alive anyway ...

First of all, the number has nothing to do with the quality of the book, but only with the fact that I didn't make it past chapter 3 without feeling too bad to continue. This is absolutely NOT my type of book, but was interesting to try it out. The book is already booked for the next trip, will try to get it going soon :-)

It ain't true! I have finally read it. Kind of proud of myself. I enjoyed it. The 'endbattle' was short and sudden. An okay read. For a first pretty good and promising.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
To the meeting.
Despite my good intentions not to bring (too) many books back with me, at the end of the BC-meeting in Groningen, I collected all the English books left at the tables. This was one of them. I recently read my first book by Karin Slaughter and thought it was quite an OK read, at least good enough to give this one a go as well. Might be a while 'till I get around to it, but it will be read.
This book has been on MTBR for a while, now I finally started reading it, but it just does not suit my current mood, so it will travel on unread.

Hey Bookgeo,Hippolein, Dutch-book and Elandria,
I've caught your book. I'm not that into thrillers myself, but I will make sure your book will find an interested reader!
