The books in the Cedar Cove series can be read independently, but I was looking forward to reread the first volumes and read several volumes in one go.
Backcovertext of the first volume:
I picked the series up again for the Bergabbau-Challenge 2022 as the cover sports some house front flowers (lavender, daffodils and maybe tulips?). In any case I prefer these painted covers to the ones taken from the TV series.
The mystery in this volume was clear to come out differently than everyone was led to believe - and I actually thought of the wrong culprit. Some of the new romances are fun, too.
I’m not really getting along with Linnette as a center character, but as the shift in the series changes constantly…

Backcovertext of the first volume:
Welcome to Cedar Cove - a small town with a big heart!
Judge Olivia Lockhart has caused a scandal. Hearing Cecilia and Ian Randal's petition for a divorce, she came to the conclusion that the young couple hadn't tried hard enough to make their marriage work. Her judgement? Divorce denied.
While Judge Olivia throws the town into an uproar, her daughter Justine is on the verge of the biggest decision of her life. Should she stop waiting for love and accept a marriage of convenience?
Olivia's best friend, Grace, has troubles of her own. Dan, her husband, is increasingly distant and Grace is starting to wonder if he's having an affair.

I am getting a bit fed up with the brief summaries of what happened before that the author inserts all throughout the book. I understand that they are necessary for readers who have not read the previous books, or perhaps read them a few years ago and might not remember , but there repeats are a bit tedious .
