Congratulations...it is highly probably, that this free, travelling book came straight from the home of one of Canada's most passionate book lovers. A short time ago, the widow of Richard Landon dropped by with a bunch of books for the Harbord House Pub bookshelves, where we "Bookcrossers" meet regularly to talk about and swap books. The book has now been registered on Bookcrossing, so it's "travels" can be followed. I'm sure Mr. Landon would approve!
Who was Richard Landon? He was the long-time Director of the Fisher Rare Book Library - one of the world’s greatest rare book libraries - at the Univeristy of Toronto. Under his direction, the Library grew from 40,000 to over 700,000 volumes. And, thanks to Mrs. Landon, our little "Bookcrossing Zone" at the pub has now grown too. Richard died Oct. 5th, 2011. So, kind reader, please visit the Bookcrossing website, and make a journal entry, then, when you are done with the book, pass it along and help it on its journey. Bookcrossing is free & anonymous, but you can join in, and help "make the whole world a library"!
