I was so happy to find this at on of my favourite Kathmandu bookstores today, for my recipient in the 12 days of Christmas exchange. (I'm late, I know, sorry!) But I nearly bought a book (or two) that just really didn't look interesting, just because they had the word FOUR in the title!
This book looks great--a first novel by an Irish author who is an ex-lawyer and is now a Benedictine monk!
I also bought a few more things to make up my package so I can get it in the mail first of next week!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Posted this out today to Releanna--as you can guess, my day was 4 -- Four Calling Birds. So I sent four birds and a few other goodies to make the journey to Austria. :)

PS - I also read the book quickly over the weekend, and I really enjoyed it. The plot was clever, the characters and the resolution compassionate, and there was a lot of interesting insight into daily Irish life. I enjoy reading crime novels by authors from different countries for that insight it gives you. It's the first novel by this author and I will keep a lookout for the others now. I hope you enjoy it too, Releanna!

Also, this month I am releasing books in memory of Mary, Megi53's mother, who liked British authors--this one is Irish, but that is part of the British Isles, too, so I am including it!

For those of you who don't understand German: I'm Irish living in Austria and picked up this book quite by chance. I was curious as I didn't know the author already. I spend my time in the underground (when I'm on my way to work) reading, so it took a little longer before I was finished reading it. I found it entertaining and it was written logically and the story made sense. I have to say, I did not guess the end......
