I read it as a teen because it was the longest book on my parents shelf and I wanted a challenge. It was terrible! Kind of like a Dickens but with confusing Russian names and without the happy ending.

This was one of the most disapointing "classics" I've ever read! It was like a depressing soap opera(not in an enjoyable way like Shadow of the Wind).
