It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

I really liked this one a lot - fairies and Shakespeare in a New York setting - what else can a gal ask for :)

Product Description
For seventeen-year-old actress Kelley Winslow, faeries are just something from childhood stories. Then she meets Sonny Flannery, whose steel-gray eyes mask an equally steely determination to protect her.
Sonny guards the Samhain Gate, which connects the mortal realm with the Faerie's enchanted, dangerous Otherworld. Usually kept shut by order of icy King Auberon, the Gate stands open but once a year.

This year, as the time approaches when the Samhain Gate will swing wide and nightmarish Fae will fight their way into an unsuspecting human world, something different is happening . . . something wondrous and strange. And Kelley's eyes are opening not just to the Faerie that surround her but to the heritage that awaits her. Now Kelley must navigate deadly Faerie treachery, and her growing feelings for Sonny.

I read the book some time ago and should have written my journal then :( ....but I do recall a fast read of a teen romance with the added spark of magical danger - what everyone should have to get through high school!

Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing May meet-up. Plot sounds very YA, but hey, faeries, so why not.

Yup, all of the usual YA trappings; main character with a secret and special background, romance with a boy she initially can't stand but then falls madly in love with, a big disaster that only the main character can stop. I'm not saying that this was a bad book, but it was slightly predictable. I liked the Faeire stuff, though. There's a cool mythology there that's wrapped up in the history of New York City, too. I didn't realize this was a series; might have to read the other books.

I love this book so much!! I loved the connections between the mortal world and the Faerie world. I loved how real the characters seemed (not flat and boring) and how relatable they were as well. The Shakespeare tie-ins were great too. I loved the romance, mystery, magic, and action of it all! I wasn't too shocked with some of the plot twists though. I did feel as though I was able to predict most of them. There was only one that really got me and it just made me enjoy the book all that much more! I'm hoping I'll be able to read the second one soon!
