We have done it! Actually done it! No one to talk to but ourselves, and we can be silent all the way to Venice if we want...
The Serene City beckons, promising Paradise regained for Ruth Cracknell and her husband, Eric, as they set forth on a carefully planned holiday. Up and over the bridges, through the maze that is the city. Spring rain, and water on all sides, soothing. It is time Ruth and Eric are seeking. Time to think, time to gaze, time for each other. But from the moment the holiday becomes an uncharted journey, their time is measured.
Journey from Venice is confronting yet deeply comforting - an acknowledgement of the miracle that is unconditional love. And this story, above all, is a love story.

I can only imagine the horror of being in a foreign country when a love one suddenly becomes life-threateningly ill, not to mention the added terror of not understanding the local language. Unsentimental but quite touching.
