A very moving journey of personal discovery set amidst the political turmoil of Afghanistan. Later to be sabotaged, as with many good books, by the cinematic interpretation.
I enjoyed this book as a travel read, easy to digest, quite graphic in places and very gripping as the tension builds towards a tumultuous end.

Looks interesting. Picked up at the Leeds Meet last night.
Finally got round to reading this. I'm glad I did. Many people have recommended this book to me. Most have also said that the author's other book "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is even better!
The book was very emotional and I had to stop and read something else, half way through. This book will stay in my mind for a very long time!
