Ian M. Banks (the science fiction author) is also Ian Banks (the non-science-fiction author). This is outright wonderful: one of the "culture" novels, in which the development of high technology has lead to the world being run by massive spacetraveling habitat/computers with a more-than-passing resemblance to Oscar Wilde.
