WILD RELEASE NOTES:

This is my favorite P.D. James novel. Cordelia Gray inherits a detective agency when her mentor, facing the certainty of a very nasty cancer, opts for suicide. It's all uphill from there. Everyone who encounters 22-year old Cordelia is convinced that being a private investigator is truly "an unsuitable job for a woman." Cordelia is one of James' finest creations. I only wish she had done more with her. There should be as many of these novels as there are of the Adam Dalgliesh books. Oh well. Nothing to do about it now ;-) If you've never read one of James' mysteries, then you owe it to yourself to read this one. Highest recommendations.

Really liked this book. Character and atmosphere were very good. Cordelia is a complex and realistic character. James' work is really fine here.
