Taken from Loriped's Girls Only Bookbox.
Finally getting around to reading and eventually releasing this one.
It’s three short stories and all three were very good although I would have to say that Tilly’s Christmas (second story) was probably my favorite.
Reserving for my “already been crossed” bookbox.

I'm claiming this well-traveled book from the Already Been Crossed bookbox!
Later: There's a fascinating back story to this book; it seems that late in her life Alcott corresponded with several young sisters who were fans of her work - and who had created their own literary publication in her honor! She wrote these stories as contributions to the girls' publication, a generous gift given Alcott's popularity at the time, and I found it quite heartwarming.
The stories themselves are sweet - with occasional tart notes; Alcott is not as saccharine as her work is sometimes made out to be. I especially liked "Rosa's Tale," in which an old horse - empowered to speak by the magic of Christmas - tells her story to a young girl in hopes of being allowed a safe and comfortable retirement.

I plan to leave this book on a bench at or near Red's Eats while in the area for their fabulous lobster rolls. Hope someone enjoys the book!
