The Pearl
5 journalers for this copy...
Found this in a bin at the recycle centre on Carolyn street.
Paperback, written in 1945. Story of a poor pearl fisherman who finds a truly magnificent pearl, only to find his problems are just beginning. THis copy has a lot of writing in the front and back cover. I think it was used as a study copy by a student.

This is only the second Steinbeck novel that I've had he pleasure of reading. Kino and Juana accompanied me on my trip to work yesterday and told me their tragic story. We always think that money can change our lives, and unfortunately that is very true...

Got this book in the post today from 'Special-K'. This particular copy looks old enough to have been the one I read in high school! Wonder if I wrote as many notes in my copy? Looking forward to re-reading this and passing it along to 'Victoriastories' in Canada when I'm done.
