Journal Entry 1 by WigglyWoods from Chorley, Lancashire United Kingdom on Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Retired PR boss Agatha Raisin is enjoying life in her pretty Cotswold village of Carsely. It even seems likely that the attractive new vet, Paul Bladen, has taken a shine to her. But before romance can blossom, Paul is killed in an accident with Lord Pendlebury's horse. Only the circumstances are rather suspicious. So Agatha decides she must once more play amateur investigator. And this cloud has a silver lining - she can persuade her usually stand-offish neighbour, James Lacey, to become her partner in the quest. As usual, Agatha is quite prepared to rush in, heedless of the lurking menace to both James and herself.

This is the first Agatha Raisin book that I've read - a light, evening's read - a few amusing parts but Miss Marple she definitely is not!

Quick update: I am about 100 pages into the book - James and Agatha are at Bill's for dinner.

I hope to finish tonight or tomorrow and get both this and Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death in the mail to rebeccaljames no later than Weds.

Journal Entry 8 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Monday, March 30, 2009
I enjoyed this book. I love Agatha and how she is learning how to be part of the community.

James annoyed me. I love Bill.

I enjoyed this one almost as much as Quiche of Death. I didn't think I would be I enjoyed the acquiring of a second cat and the lack of edge parts of the story show us that Agatha is developing.

Much of the same...enjoyable, cozy...fun! :) I liked this one a touch more, but I think that is simply because Agatha is indeed developing and she is growing on me...let's see if it continues! :)

Agatha arrived safely, she is beautiful, and I am eager to get to know with her :)

Journal Entry 30 by hakkalina at Budapest, Pest Hungary on Thursday, December 2, 2010
I enjoyed it!!
What a hilarious read it is! After 2 days I am still smiling, mainly if I think about the toilet adventure, or Agatha's daydreamings, shoes stories... I was totally wrapped up in it, I even forgot my envrionment, and smiled, grinned, laughed. I love so much scatterbrained Agatha's .. sometime I would like to resemble her... :)

I want more books about her... :))
