Purchased at the Friends For The Public Library clearance sale in Albuquerque, NM.

This was a quick read. Vachss' stories are so hard hitting, and there is something to offend everyone in here. I loved the concept of the book... this is a companion to his short story collection, Born Bad, adapted by various authors for graphic novel format. Some great talent here, including Joe R. Lansdale and Chet Williamson. Definitely not for the faint at heart or easily offended!

I haven't read any Vachss before, and knew of him more from his work in child-protection/legal services than as a novelist, which seems odd when I read the Wikipedia about him and see how many novels he has written! As Jare said, "something to offend everyone in here", but somehow it wasn't offensive & I even resented the fact that one "bad guy" wasn't caught & dealt with...I'm not usually that bloodthirsty!

I wouldn't say it's offensive because it's not celebrating the behaviour, but this one is certainly disturbing.
