I liked it, but not as much as The Notebook. I've read several of Nicholas Sparks books and find they don't evoke the bittersweet emotion in The Notebook.
I thought this one left the ending up in the air...but my mother thought it was clear (and sad). She hated it, but hates less than fairy tale endings. I thought the ending lead one to think a miracle could have happened, but mom didn't see it that way.
