I picked this book up at a little used & new book store in Boston, right across the street from the Boston Commons. It was a great place - filled to the ceiling with textbooks and novels of all ages and types, with interesting quotes about books and reading taped to the walls and bookshelves. I only wish I'd had the list of authors I'm hunting for with me!
This is a trade paperback. It contains 11 stories by Andrei Codrescu who was born in Romania and lived there for 20 years. He emigrated to the US and is now an author and writing teacher. I've heard him do commentary on National Public Radio and found him interesting and amusing.

I didn't enjoy these stories much. They seemed a bit incoherent to me - full of odd ramblings and strange happenings that distracted from the stories or were confusing. Since he's a writing professor, I'm sure they're very literary and full of rich intellectual meaning but they were beyond me.
I hope this book travels on to find someone who enjoys them more than I did.
