A good stand-alone story, but I bought it because of references to King's Dark Tower series, and things got so mixed up for me that I couldn't keep straight what was going on. Also, it kept referring to The Talisman, so I'm going to have to read that one now to see if it has something to do with Dark Tower or Black House. I'm not sure I got all the Dickens' references either (I'll have to read Bleak House now).

This was a new set of unabridged cassette tapes read by Frank Muller, who I really like, but who can take a bit of getting used to if you aren't used to him.

I'd like to release this at a truck stop for a long-haul trucker to pick up . . .
