The Constant Gardener
7 journalers for this copy...
I bought this in a charity shop in 2005, before the film had come out. I also bought a copy for my Mum for Christmas as she is a big Le Carre fan.
This was a pretty good book, although I did have higher expectations (not sure why...). The plot was thrilling, though a little predictable. (But I say that about most books!) Overall I would recommend it as a good read.
I think I will offer it up as a ring. Watch this space..

I think I'm going to offer this up as a ring, so here is a bit more info (from the back cover)...
Frightening, heartbreaking and exquisitely calibrated, The Constant Gardner is a profoundly moving story of a man enobled by his wife's tragic murder, and a magnificent exploration of the dark side of unbridled capitalism.
"Le Carre poses deep spiritual questions about the damage [the human race] has done, and continues to do, both to the planet and to itself. He does so in a page-turner which reminds us that the master storyteller of the Smiley books has lost none of his cunning"
(This is not a film tie-in copy, if that makes any difference to anyone...)

Arrived yesterday, but I had a problem with my connection.Thank you j4neyo!I'll try to read it as fast as I can although I've got some rings before this one.
I'm very close to the end.Sorry for the delay but there were other rings, exams for a certificate and now Final Exams at school..I work really hard this period.
I've already finished it and PMed to criminologeek.I had forgotten to journal! Thanks cnfotp for organising this ring and sorry for the delay..I enjoyed the book, the style of Le Carre and the characters, although the story was not very special..Everyone:kisses from Greece!
Mailing the book to the next reader as soon as I get the mailing address.
Caught!!! I have three rings ahead of it, but I should be able to start it within the next week. I also want to add that it arrived with the coolest postage stamps from Malaysia. I actually kept the wrapping to show people. Thank you for sharing!!!
My first Le Carre novel and I completely enjoyed it. I don't know if I would have been interested in reading it, if I had not seen the preview for the movie, which I still have not seen. I found it fast paced with an intriguing premise. It maybe could have been about a hundred pages shorter.
Thank you to cnfotp for sharing. I am mailing it out to the next reader this morning.

Got it! Thank you shpriz1.
I enjoyed reading this book better than watching the movie. Thanks for sharing cnfotp!
It appears I'm the last person on the ring...and have contacted cnfotp for an address but not heard back. I hope I'm not being relegated to spam mail! I'll try again and hope to hear back.

No response from cnfotp! I'll hold onto the book until I hear what to do with it.
