Maybe a Miracle : A Novel (ARC)

This was a GREAT book! I got it as an Advanced Reader's Copy to review. It was very thought provoking. Throughout the book I was asking myself if I would do the same as the characters in the book. Even though there was only one narrator, each of the view points of the characters was presented. I really enjoyed this book and will look for more by this author!
Picked up from BigBird2002 when we met for lunch. Thanks again -- I had fun!
Well, it took me long enough but I finally did read this. I thought it was okay; not great, not something I probably would have picked up had I known more about it, just so-so. The back cover really doesn't give much information on the book so I wasn't expecting the heavy religious theme. The story centers around a family in which the daughter falls into a coma/vegetative state and small miracles happen all around her. (Healings, stigmata, etc.) The ending was a bit of a twist which I appriciated and opened the door to some deeper thoughts about the whole subject matter. It was a quick enough read and I enjoyed the development of the main character very much. I don't know quite how realistic I felt all of the inter-family relationships were, but I was able to suspend my disbelief enough. (After all, character interaction was far from the most difficult bit to believe for me.) All in all, it was pretty straight-average for me. Rather forgettable, to be honest. Maybe someone with stronger religious feelings would think otherwise.
