Thanks Strandrose! Just re-found my envelope for day 5 of the advent-calendar!!! :o)

We already have the story of the mole and toad on our shelf... but this is a really nice edition, too. So, we'll see if I keep this or the other...

Well that was disappointing; I expected so much of such a famous story, but much was wrong with this story. Maybe time has aged it. But one thing I will mention that is strange, is that animals talk to each other, but also eat each other. (Bacon for breakfast!) It is as though food and animals come from different places and are not one and the same. If instead of animals the characters are thought of as humans, but represented by animals to portray their personalities it would make more sense. Still, I grew bored with attempting this mind thought and the story generally and skimmed the last part. Sad to be disappointed with it.
