The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived

My 5 rating indicates the neutrality I maintain about this subject matter. Most readers (like me) who have never seen an aura (actually, I have seen one: mine, when I sat for a Kirlian aura photograph--WOW! Eye-popping colors in the picture, just me & my aura!) would probably not be a happy camper with this read unless they just wanted to see what all the fuss is about. It's about as New Age as you can get--like OUT THERE. I bought the book because when I sat for my first psychic reading a few years ago (did I say OUT THERE?) and was told that my younger son was an "Indigo child," (Huh??) I had to investigate.
I do love the metaphysical, and I have certainly been given information and had experiences that rattled the timbers and shook the foundation. I'm a sucker for anything that gives my mind a stretch. And this book qualifies. But I can't recommend the book as an instructional guide for parents, particularly those with ADHD children, as many Indigo children are alleged to be. Some of the positive strategies recommended for parents to use with Indigo children could certainly be used with confidence in dealing with all children. However, some of the alternative therapies should be approached with caution.
All children are special (I do love the chapter titles such as "Honoring the Little Ones as Gifts"), and any of us who are now older are constantly amazed at the easy grasp today's children and young adults have of all things technological. Did God paint these souls indigo and send them forth as special emissaries to prepare the world for the Great Awakening of the mind-blowing technical challenges of the 21st century? Who knows? But it's a fascinating if incredulous theory.

I'm mailing this shortly to a BX'er in Portugal who responded when I begged someone--anyone--to help me clear my bookshelf. Thanks!
Thanks a lot for the book! I hope it helps me raising my child. My husband and I will read it carefully and then I'll pass it around Europe or else!!! There are lots of parents out there and this subject is only now being talked about in Portugal. Once again thanks!
I had lent it to a friend and it is now home... I have already started to read it... So far, so good!
It is time to let this go. It was a good read and maybe someone else will like to read it too. I will release it at the library where I work...
