Hellsing, Vol. 3

The Hellsing Organization heads to South America, in search of the people behind the recent vampire attacks. They suspect an old Nazi project, but what they find might surprise even Alucard.
This volume is a pretty solid example of Hellsing's style; gore, snarky humor, and not much else! If you are looking for something deep, look elsewhere, but if you just want to see Nazi-affiliated troops getting ripped to pieces while assorted higher-ups make speeches about war, this is your cup of tea. It's almost mindlessly violent, but interspersed with humor and entertaining characters.

One of the starter books for the Vampire Bookbox
I'm claiming this book from the Vampire bookbox. I enjoyed Volume One some time back, and have seen most of the animated series as well.
Later: While the sometimes-amateurish-looking artwork is distracting, there's plenty of dark humor and action here, as Seras demonstrates her badassery while resolving never to take the final step to vampirism by drinking blood - while Alucard is quietly confident that she will. He also has some power-play confrontations with Integra, head of the Hellsing organization, who sometimes wonders just what she's unleashed here. (See page 112 for one reason why Alucard is so justly feared; no friendly-neighborhood-vampire he!) And of course there are enemies as colorful and dangerous, including Alhambra, who can throw cards with lethal results - which amuses Alucard very much. He seems so *pleased* at all these new foes to fight!
[There's an extensive TV Tropes page about the manga that may be of interest.]
