I got this fair-condition ex-library hardcover from this Little Free Library in Lowell, MA, while dropping off a book of my own. It's an anthology, with some very odd stories indeed {wry grin}, including "Career Move," in which the characters inhabit a world where poets have publishers fighting for the rights to their work while screen-writers languish in obscurity; the title story, where a mother and her adult yet infantile son go on a cruise - this one's very dark and twisty, with some vague hints as to what the actual relationship is; "The Janitor on Mars," which takes the alien-precursor concept to increasingly funny (in a dark way) extremes - while being contrasted with an Earth-based orphanage with a horrifying record of abuse.

I left this book in the Little Free Library on this drizzly afternoon. Hope someone enjoys it!
