Do you feel that the Wicked Witch of the West was justified in wanting the Ruby Slippers? After all, they did belong to her sister. This is a fascinating, if fictional, biography of the Witch. Maguire has written a book that feels well researched, even if all the research was in his mind. Enjoy!

I've come to the conclusion that fantasy just isn't my thing. I never liked The Wizard of Oz film, and I found this book to be a bit of a trudge. However, there's no denying that it's well-written and that the author created fully-fleshed out characters, so I'm firmly convinced the fault lies with me. I'm sure someone who's more interested in fantasy will thoroughly enjoy this book.
