The author is such a powerful wordsmith that it was as though history came alive between the covers of this book and I was racing across the steppes on a fine Mongolian steed, wrapped in a deel and headed for the Gobi, right alongside The Great Khaan.

Riveting, fascinating, spellbinding, etc.
I found it next to impossible to put this book down.
Highly recommended!

This was a fascinating account of a man I unfortunately know little about. Now I am wiser! Even today, Genghis Khan has a "bad reputation." I always thought of him as a rampaging murderer. This story really brought the man and his time to life and showed what an inspired leader he was. Excellent book.
