Blurb:
Bakery owner Hannah Swensen has a dress to fit into and a date with her sister, Andrea, at Lake Eden’s new health club, Heavenly Bodies. Dragging herself out of bed on a frigid Minnesota morning for exercise, of all things, is bad enough. Discovering the body of man-eating bombshell Ronni Ward floating in the gym’s jacuzzi? Okay, that’s worse. Nor does it help that there’s a plate of The Cookie Jar’s very own cream puffs garnishing the murder scene.
Trying to narrow the list of Ronni’s enemies down to fewer than half the town’s female population, Hannah has her plate full. Trouble is, when it comes to cookies—and to murder—there’s always room for one more…

This was a basic, good cozy mystery! Sometimes I do think these stories could be a bit more compact but I guess it would just take something away from the coziness... And I don't want that to happen :)

Nice mystery, not too scary, and quite delicious too!
Sending this book to Niksu next!
Thank you for this as well.
Edit: I read it during the summer vacation July -19. Enjoyd, though the plot was a bit silly at times :D

Yes, Annelis took the book to the meet-up but did not give it to anybody.
Thank you for the book!
Thank you for the book!
This is a nice bed-time story. Not too scary. I must say they are eating too many cookies! I get hungry while reading about it.
I thought that luckily the recipes use US measures and things, so I need not start to bake. But on the page 336 you'll find the Baking conversion chart.

I hope you don't eat too many cookies because of this book!

Now I'm craving for a pile of gluten free cream puffs with chocolate sauce... Thank you for the book, Annelis!

_Sauerkraut_ in chocolate cookies?!? If everyone was working at the office, I'd put these recipies to test in a heartbeat! I still want those cream puffs, but I'm not sure on other books in the series. Yes, this was a meringue-whip-light read, but too much sugar dulls the experience even with the best of cakes. Perhaps a tarty lemon pie might be refreshing change to the more gory thrillers I tend to go to, but I'm not sure I could take another syrupy bite of Hannah's lovelife... But the murder mystery itself was a nice nut top to chew!

I think I have read a "delicious" book by this author before, but not this one. So thank you! (I'm afraid I'll be eating chocolate while reading this...)

Quite OK. A lot of recipes!
I searched my readinglists, both physical and goodreads, and I googled the book covers - it seems that after all I haven't read anything by Joanna Fluke before! So...

Thank you for the book! I’ve read this back in 2017 (see above) and even though I liked it, I won’t read this again so this gets to go to the AVL to wait for a new reader :)

On its way to the winner the January sweeps. Congratulations and happy reading!
Thank you, soozreader!
I like Hannah Swensen, even if she can’t decide between two fiancé candidates. For me there was too much Norman’s niceness and too little any other than baking action in this story. Perhaps that’s what Hannah wants? Well, I don’t think so. I googled Joanne Fluke and found out that Hannah will marry. My guess and wish is she’ll find the third option.
The inhabitants of Lake Eden are so nice and decent that it almost frightens me. And yet several murders in a year take place in this Hallmark style paradise! Anyway, it's nice to read about Hannah’s life while recovering from migraine when your brain is not working at full capacity.

Thanks! When I opened your lovely London Christmas card I thought "Oh no, did I remember to put a card in the bag?"- probably not. Sorry. But you are going to have a laugh when you see one of the journal entries...This is a well-travelled book, Merry Christmas everybody I know through the line. And Annelis, Santa will be driving by your house on Friday, so be good!
Began reading this last night when others had gone to bed after midnight. Guilty pang for over-eating and under-excercising, especially after Christmas, when chocolate poisoning has been a close call… Well, most Christmas goodies are quickly vanishing, so perhaps there is hope. But you won't see me at any gym and that's a promise!
Happy New Year, everybody!
Happy New Year, everybody!
The book claims that excercising is so much easier in water. Depends on the excercises... I remember back in 1997 when I had began work in Söderkulla and decided to try water-excercising. The only available group which I could attend with my work-hours was foŕ oldies and there I was with all the little old ladies and thought I would faint or even worse - puke in the water! It was very close. Never underestimate little old ladies! They had surviced WWI and II for sure, I was merely 32 yrs...
A few years ago one of our clients (a physio therapist) began giving us private tutoring after work at work, so we could not escape. She came with those thin torture mattresses and what was supposed to be nice stretching was far from it. My back was aching for four days afterwards, then it was a bit better for three days and then it was hell again for four days. I think I was a bit more agile after a year, but it was just as painful, so I decided excercice and I weren't meant for each other.

Finally finished. Sometimes reading this felt like watching those security camera tapes... This wasn't a very good Fluke, I have to say. Too much everything else but sleuthing and in 2009 it should not have been made such an issue of sleeping over in your male friend's house.
The question is - should I release this tomorrow in Kamppi or take it with me to Berlin in two months time? I should get rid of books, but I also want to have books to release in March.
