This was picked up at the Church book stall on their regular monthly coffee morning.
It is Book 1 of the series and I thought it may prove an enjoyable diversion between some of my other (large) tomes I've been reading at present.
Cover.
"When sixteen year old Zoey is marked by the Tracker, she knows her old life is over. Now she has to leave her friends and family to join the House of Night school, where there's only one subject Zoey needs to study : Vampyre 101.
Of course, there's always a catch, and this one's nice and simple: if you fail, you die ...."

Oh dear, I forgot to journal this when I read it a couple of months ago, though I enjoyed this starter in the series book which basically lays out the background and 'starts at the start' of the story for Zoey.
The portrayal of Zoey is sort of in the frame of the 'misunderstood teenager' who is discovering a new world and plays well to the known strengths of that premise. The characterisation is developing as the book unfolds as are the characters of her companions in the book which makes this such an obvious start of the series book.
I get the impression that a veritable snowstorm of 'fantastical' characters are on the way all with their own specialisms (which all have to be explained) and woven into the future tales. I may well read a further one or two of these but I'm not yet sure that I'll follow the whole series, even though I did enjoy this one!
