I know that Deltic has enjoyed the other books in this DI Colbeck series, but hadn't managed to get his hands on this, the first one. When I spotted this in a box of books landing at my house I decided to get it for him. So it's off to Yorkshire tomorrow.
The book arrived safely on Friday. This is the first chance I've had to journal it.
I was thinking to myself, how am I going to fit this into the "What to read thread" when Eunice solved the problem and snaffled it! So, she will get to read it first.
Thank you so much for this. I am really looking forward to reading when the boss has finished with it!

We both thoroughly enjoyed this book. Eunice is just as keen as I am when it comes to the Railway Detective books, but she is not so enamoured with the Restoration Series.
There was quite a lot of historical detail in this one. Not enough to spoil it though.
Victor Leeming (police sergeant) usually manages to get beaten up sometime in these books but manages to avoid it in this one!
Its ok to read this series out of sequence. I have, and enjoyed every one.
Thank you Bluenoser!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book has left the station and is on its way to a new reader.
The book pulled in to the station this morning. Thank you Deltic
This is a fun, light hearted romp which, basically, I enjoyed. I found some of the details about the various steam engines a bit forced - it felt to me as if the author had some facts and figures that he just had to include! But, other than that, it was an easy read.
This book was picked as the February book for my book group, and I'm looking forward to finding out what my fellow group members thought of it.

Passing to a fellow member of my book group.
