It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

"A dying man's message sends interstellar explorers on a search for a lost alien civilization."

This is the best book I ever read. I was 13 when I read it though. I am now re reading it after a 15 year search for this out of print book. I final found it POD (Print On Demand). This book was so good that it was brought back to print by the Authors Guild.

I am thinking sending this book around to people who might be interested in reading it. Message me if you are interested.

Finished reading this today. I really like the science and the science fiction in this book. The descriptions of the two alien worlds were incredible. I especially liked the museum! Thanks for sharing this book with me!

Mailed this book to LaRue today to continue its journey. :-)

Thanks for sending this book! The author creates some amazing scenes - the museum, the rings of Hecatomb, and Civilization - very visual and fully realized. He can also teach science - don't miss the Afterword, where quantum physics is explained in an easily understood way. He's not as successful with characters, they are pretty one-dimensional, Ariadne especially seems straight out of a romance novel - stubborn, impulsive, close-minded, and, well, annoying. I'm amazed, though, that nobody optioned this for film - especially today when digitized effects could really bring the story to life.

Sending to the next person in the list! Enjoy!

It's a wonderful tongue in cheek story backed by great speculative science. The combination of the sometimes screwball comedy with the specifics of how hyperspace could work and the details of the time lags of space comunication, etc, made for a believable and well formed diegesis. There were times reading this book that I just had to stop to laugh. The book reminds me a great deal of Red Dwarf.
