Disappointing book for me.
Somehow I lost the entire write-up when my computer got a bit crazy. Not going to re-write it. Short version, the story is about a young orphan whose Irish soldier died, and the kid grew up in colonial then ruled by the Brits.
Can't relate to the story, can't understand it well, can't relate to the life style. Why did Kim want to become a "holy man's" disciple? And the holy man kept searching for the river that would wash away all his sins. Can't understand the ending either.
Disappointing because Rudyard Kipling wrote two of my all time favorite books: Captains Courageous and The Jungle Book (not the idiotic Disney cartoon).

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Had the book for decades - part of a pack of some ten books or so, classics, bought when my kids were still in school. I'm sure they never read it and I didn't bother with it until now. Not a great read for me. Into the Wild!
