Except for Sookie Stackhouse, folks in Bon Temps Louisiana, knew little about vampires-and nothing about Weres.
Until now. The Weres and Shifters have finally revealed their existance to the ordinary world, and the backlash may have claimed the life of someone Sookie knew. But her determination to find the murderer is put aside when she has to face a new and potentially more serious threat.
A race of Unhuman beings older and more powerful than Vampires or Weres are plotting a war...and Sookie will find herself an all-too-human pawn in the middle of their dangerous game.

I was excited when I came across this book at Walmart last week, had to have it.
Finished it in a little over three hours uninterrupted.
As usual, I loved the Sookie books, this one ends somewhat oddly, with sort of a non-ending as much as a long pause before we get another dose of Vampire Bill...who as the book ends is in a questionable state with his life-or unlife-having been nearly killed in the Fae Wars.
Sookie and Eric are a regular couple now, and somewhere along the line between book 8 and 9 it became legal for vamps to marry humans...

There were some sad losses of characters in this book, just as there were in the last couple. Among them, Claudine and Dawson. Both near and dear to my heart, and naturally, I wept for them.
Placing on my permanent shelf along with my other Sookie books.
