I pulled this from the Medicine Chest Book Box and read it before sending the box on so I could keep it in the box to travel along. It was an interesting, if sometimes dry and elementary look at forensics. I wish some mystery writers could have read this book to have improved their books! Overall, an ok read, but not earth shattering. You can pick up most of this info watching an episode or two of CSI.

Ri, thanks for putting this back into the box so I get to take it out!
I always find forensic science fascinating, even though I am too chicken to consider it a career for myself. I've read a few books on the subject, so I hope this one is not too basic for me!

I found this book quite entertaining and informative. It uses a fictional case to lead us through the various process and tools the police uses to solve a crime. Bearing in mind that this book is a bit old and technology definitely has improved a lot, it still has a lot of good info, even if some detail is a bit too in depth. It's also interesting to read how in the beginning of blood test and DNA, there were debates about the legality of getting samples of blood and other bodily fluids from suspects.
