From the fly-leaf: "The Lace Reader" is a mesmerizing tale that spirals into a world of secrets, confused identities, lies, and half-truths in which the reader quickly finds it's nearly impossible to separate fact from fictino, but as Towner Whitney points out early in the novel, "There are no accidents."

Well, hardly. It was really easy to figure out. The only person confused is the narrator, Towner. Everyone else pretty much figures it out. For a first novel, this is fairly good.

I'm saving this book for a BookCrossing Meetup in about a month.

Woo hoo! This book was on my wish list! Thanks GaramondMama! Even better this a book based in Massachusetts. After I read it I plan to put it aside for release at the 2010 Boston UnConvention.

Without a doubt this is the best book I have read this year!! I loved the plot, the protagonist, the mystery and the ending which makes you question everything in the novel you thought you understood. I loved the references to Salem and Massachusetts and I plan to put it away until the 2010 UnConvention that will be held in Boston. Fabulous Book! I can't say enough about it!
