The title is so well chosen for this book. It is a snowfall quiet story, built around reflection. The blizzard that takes place in Puget Sound, Washington, provides a setting that requires people to stay close and face the consequences of their relationships and their actions. The interrment of Japanese Americans during World War II, seldom discussed in our times, is played out here in characters that could have been your next door neighbors, your friends, your lovers.
A wonderful book of quiet suspense. A murder trial without theatrics. A peek at Japanese-Americans during WWII. A beautiful description of the Pacific Northwest.
This is a book well worth reading more than once.
The title, "Snow Falling on Cedars," describes the book perfectly.
