Abstract:
"It's Cristmas Eve when the telephone rings. Loretta and her boyfriend, famous composer Robert Herrin, are about to go out to dinner, so she's not too pleased to hear from old acquaintance Sandra Neil.
Sandra says her apartment is flooded and there's no chance of finding a plumber until after the holiday. Can she come and sleep on Loretta's sofa-bed just for a night or two? Loretta never much liked Sandra, but she can hardly turn her away on Christmas Eve. It will be a tight fit, with Loretta, Robert, Sandra, and Bertie the cat sharing a one-bedroom apartment, but somehow they'll manage.
Or will they? When Sandra's still in residence a week later, Loretta feels herself losing patience with her messy guest. Sandra doesn't even seem to be trying to find a plumber. Loretta's irritation turns to fear, however, when she returns home on New Year's Eve to find Sandra missing. There's no note, no indication of where Sandra might have gone..."

I've found this at the flea market at the American library in Karlsruhe today. Just bought it because of the cover (and now the cover is not shown above :(... but it seems to be a good read for X-Mas... :)

Well - the beginning was good to read - anyway - nothing really happens and I soon got really bored... well - this is not my cup of tea - maybe it's a nice decent read for some people - but I don't get entertained enough...
What a pity.
