Another fun Miss Zukas mystery. This time she's talked into going on a hike into the Cascade's by Ruth. As usual Helma does her research and is completely prepared, while Ruth just lets common sense pass her by! The hike turns deadly, and while trying to understand what happened, the two get stuck in a little cabin with some other hikers during a snowstorm. Clues point to it being one of the people they're trapped with, but which one?

This came home in my Cozy Mystery Box. Thanks for sharing! I may include it in the next round of the box or share it with another BCer. I have read a few in this series and enjoyed them, especially the humor that comes from Ruth and Helen's reationship.

Pulled this out of Affinity4books' cozy mystery bookbox. This one was actually on my wishlist, having already read the first 3 in this series (this is #5). Thanks for sharing, guys!

Sadly, MaryZee passed suddenly in September 2012. MaryZee's daughter is now ready to rehome her mom's books and I was willing to collect and redistribute them to keep her literary legacy alive.

The last time I saw MaryZee, she was telling me that she wanted to start a book box with the theme of Kitties & Kozies. This book is going to be set aside to see if anyone is interested in joining.

I'm claiming this paperback from the Bookish Book Box in Memory of MaryZee.

Later: This is the fifth book in the "Miss Zukas" series featuring crime-solving librarian Helma Zukas - and this one has a bit of a twist, in that most of the story takes place in the Cascade mountains during a snowstorm! I didn't find it particularly involving either as a mystery or for the characters - they did have some scenes with amusing backchat, but I didn't feel drawn to spend more time with them. Still, it has some atmospheric scenes, and of course I have to give some points to a story involving the attempt to recover a body from a glacier {wry grin}.
