A good read about 'growing up' in so many different ways.

What a nice surprise! Thank you so much for sending this. I discovered Nick Hornby fairly recently and he's one of my new favourite writers. I'm sure I will enjoy this.
Thank you again!
Thank you again!
A very enjoyable read. Marcus is a lovable and endearing character, and even Will became sympathetic after you got used to him. (I found some unsettling similarities between Will and myself, which I will have to keep an eye on in the future...) Very nicely written and not at all cloying or sugary. Thanks very much for sharing it.

I've never seen the movie but the book definitely looked interesting. I actually started reading it on the way home and am already about 1/4 of the way through LOL It was hard to put down!
So over the last week, I read this book a little bit before bed each night and finished it in a few days.. what a great book! I think I must have been the female version of Marcus growing up LOL! Sometimes Will made me laugh - his sentiments about children and parenting are so similar to my own :P
Ironically, the movie came on TV a day or two after I finished the book - I watched about 30 minutes of it but the commercials annoyed the heck out of me and I couldn't enjoy the film at all. I don't know if I didn't like the film, or just didn't like the commercials.. I might rent it some time and check it out.
I'll save this for the next social and see if anyone else wants to read it. If not, I'll take it back and release it around the college somewhere.
