Received in a box of romance books from VivYip (trade for stamps). Thank you so much! What a coincidence to find a Julia Quinn book in the box. :) I have just started in one of her books (The Viscount Who Loved Me) from a bookring.

Back cover:
Henrietta Barrett has never followed the dictates of society. She manages her elderly guardian's remote Cornwall estate, wears breeches instead of frocks, and answers to the unlikely name of Henry. But when her guardian passes away, her beloved home falls into the hands of a distant cousin.
William Dunford, London's most elusive bachelor, is stunned to learn that he's inherited property, a title... and a ward bend on making his first visit his last. Henry is determined to continue running Stannage Park without help from the handsome new lord, but Dunford is just as sure he can change things... starting with his wild young ward. But turning Henry into a lady makes her not only the darling of the ton, but an irresistible attraction to the man who thought he could never be tempted.

Edit 20 March 2012: The book is now reserved for Kiki66 (need to read it first though).
Edit: 21 March 2012: This will be a little bookring, as Entengrütze is also interested (I'll probably post it later in the forum as well, when I've started reading it).

I finished reading this in 2 days (which for me is pretty fast) as I just couldn't put it down. It was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed this story of the tomboyish Henry (Henriëtta) and Dunford (a rake, but a very nice one). I especially liked the first part, when they were in Cornwall, the dynamics between the couple is great. And also like the bits with Belle, Emma, Alex, and John. The last bit seemed to go on a bit long though (and the characters went kind of mean), was hoping for a bit more of the happy ending (hope I'm not spoiling too much :p).
Seems this is the last of a trilogy, though they are fine as stand-alone(s) since I didn't know the other two existed till I looked it up after finishing the book. Will have to keep an eye out for them. :p

Turning this into a bookring.

I knew this wouldn't take long :-))

Another nice one - I really like Julia Quinn's style!
and I love the 'fights' between Henry and Dunford..she's certainly not the mousy type!!

Tsjara - which are the other two books you're looking for?? maybe I have them? (I definitely have the story of Bella and John!)

Edit: forgot to add that the book's on its way to Duesseldorf!

Thanks kiki, book arrived savely, together with a nice postcard which fits very well to the book ;-)

Yes, this was the right book for a rainy Saturday morning ;-) I especially liked the character of Henry, who (of course) is a young woman who is not behaving like she should, but not because she do not want to, but because she never had the opportunity to learn it from an elder woman - when having the chance she discover that she likes e.g. dresses...on the other side she has a lot of self-confidence as she is running the estate all by herself since young. When after 2/3 of the book the happy end seems to come, I was wandering why there are still a lot pages but of course there was again a twist - even if we as reader know that the happy end will come, we a kind of "enjoy" the suffering, argueing, fights of the two ;-) I also liked that Henry is not the usual young, shy, naive girl who knows nothing about the world, no, she is strong in her own way and recognize the chance given to develop further - perhaps that is a little bit exagerated as this is not big literature, as we all know, but I really liked the book and the characters

16.7.2012: as Lilyklip want to be skipped, I will contact penelopewanders for the address

This ring was waiting when I returned from holiday - and it's quite the tourbus of rings, so I'll try to read them as quickly as possible and send them on - thanks so much for sending (and making available!)

This was on my wishlist for quite a while, and I was glad to see it offered as a ring. Quinn tends to write light, fun novels and this was no exception. At some point there had to be some sort of tension in the story, I suppose, and sure enough, it arrived, but it felt a bit feeble to me. I enjoyed the read nonetheless, but it's not a keeper for me. Thanks so very much for offering it as a ring - perfect solution, and my bookshelves are happy... (or happier than they'd be if I added yet ANOTHER book to them). I'll try to post it on soon.

On its way from the Swiss Alps over to the hills of Austria... "Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen..." (oops, sang that song in choir as a kid and can't quite get it out of my mind whenever I think of the city). Anyway, the book has now been sent.
Thanks for making available, and for sending!

27. August 2012: The book arrived today. What a beautiful cover! I´m looking forward to read it. Thank you too for the lovely book mark.

6. November 2012: I finally read the book and I really enjoyed it. The story made me laugh and cry. I´m so glad that it has a happy ending. It seemed that all would be lost. But in the end all was well. It´s worth reading.
