"Encircling London like a noose, the M25 is a road to nowhere, but when Iain Sinclair sets out to walk this loop he is determined to find out where the journey will lead him."

Described as ingenious, unpredictable and possessing perverse heroism. You'll never look at that routine journey the same way again...

  • You will be sending the book to the person who appears after you in the list, so please PM them promptly to get their address when you have finished.
  • This is quite a dense book, so please take the time you need to read and enjoy it; however do remember that others are keen to read it too and move it on as speedily as is practical.

Mailing to Elhamisabel.

Journal Entry 6 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Monday, May 5, 2008
I got this in the mail today.
Thank you!

Journal Entry 7 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Sunday, May 11, 2008
I'm giving up on this book. I managed to read only around 90 pages in a week and that's not because I didn't like what I read. It's more because I can't concentrate on the narrative style. It's not one I like very much and hence found it hard to muster the energy and patience to read the book.

I've contacted the next person and will ship the book as soon as possible.

Journal Entry 8 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Saturday, May 17, 2008
The book is finally mailed. This, after no time during post office opening hours; getting there and realising that they had closed half an hour earlier; on the verge of going out to the post office but stopped because a huge thunderstorm started at that moment and by the time it had stopped, the post office had closed again. ;-)

Journal Entry 9 by PeaMartian from Durham, County Durham United Kingdom on Tuesday, May 20, 2008
Arrived in the post today - thanks! Going on to TBR - I'm hoping to read this during a trip to London in the next few weeks...

Journal Entry 10 by PeaMartian from Durham, County Durham United Kingdom on Wednesday, July 2, 2008
Well, unfortunately I had to give up on this book too. I only made it through the first 60 pages, and then realised that it was more of a chore than a pleasure so I decided to cut my losses and move on. Firstly, I think I struggled with the writing sytle - I kept wondering why he was taking so long to get to the point. All that I'd enjoyed about the first 60 pages could have been said in just 10. Maybe my attention span is just shinking? Secondly, I realised that I'm just not that interested in London as a place any more. I think I might have stuck with the book for longer if I had still lived there, but now I find I'd rather spend my time reading about places that I would actually like to visit, rather than ones that I only really visit for work.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

I've PM'd Beebarf and will post this on once I get an address...

The book arrived today - with another ring book, isn't that always the way? - but I will get to it as quickly as I can.

Journal Entry 12 by beeofgoodcheer from Stowmarket, Suffolk United Kingdom on Saturday, December 27, 2008
I still have this book, safe with me. Unfortunately, I've not been able to get to ring/ray books as quickly as I would wish, but I have PM'ed the next person in the list, and I hope to mail it out in the next few days.

Journal Entry 13 by beeofgoodcheer from Stowmarket, Suffolk United Kingdom on Tuesday, December 30, 2008
I'm going to make it three in a row for unfinished, I'm afraid. It didn't grab me and - given the size of the book - I didn't want to keep going when it wasn't all that enjoyable.

It's not to say that the book is bad, exactly - it's just that it could have been so much better, lighter, funnier ...

I have the next person's address and the book will be sent in about 30 minutes time.

The book arrived here this morning; thanks beebarf for sending it on to me. Thanks also for your note in the lovely sunflower notecard; it brightened my day. :o)

I'm finding little time to read at the moment due to being a full-time carer for my Mum and also studying full-time but I will try and read this book soon. I'll journal it again once I've read it. Thanks Astrofiammante for letting me join this bookring.

Journal Entry 16 by sunflowergirl from Carlisle, Cumbria United Kingdom on Tuesday, October 27, 2009
I'm sorry for having held onto this book for so long. My Mum passed away earlier this year and it's been very difficult. Things have got on top of me and bookcrossing has taken a backseat in my life. I'm going to get this bookring moving as soon as I have an address from Glitterlover - I PM'd her yesterday. Thanks for being patient with me.
