A novel based on the true story of how German war profiteer and prison camp "Direktor" Oskar Schindler saved more Jews from the gas chambers than any other single person during World War II. An International bestseller which was made into a movie.

What a book! I'm not sure what else to say apart from what an amazing man. This book does not, in it's own words, 'Canonize Schindler' but it shows him in an honest light. A drunkard and a womaniser but also a German with a concience at the time when it most mattered.

The story of his life after the War was very sad but it was inspirational to see how honoured he has now been by the Jewish population of the world, and how he thought of his 'shindlerjuden' as his family. A man who deserves all the priase he is ever to recieve worldwide and it's very scary to realise how close his story came to never being told, thank you Pfefferberg and Keneally.

Thanks so much for sharing this book Kris. Back onto the library shelf it goes until a 1001 library only VBB comes to collect it xx
