Wow, this is a strange and crazy book. It is set somewhere in South America, where a young professor of philosophy starts fighting the local coca lord by writing letters to a national newspaper in which he openly denounces all the corruption, violence and madness of the coca trade and its supporting structures in politics and society. So far - well yes, ok, but at some point the whole thing gets two strange aspects: for pages the story gets lost either in violence and sometimes in reverie. This now maybe sound like I think the book is horrible - which it is not. I just think it is plain nuts. But not a bad read.
