My Sister's Keeper
2 journalers for this copy...

Taking this to read on the train to/from Edinburgh tomorrow.

OK, so I only read the first 57 pages on the train. My other book took longer to read than I thought. But this one's good so far!

Finished it last night, stayed up later than I should have done reading it and now I'm completely shattered this morning!
It's a really brilliant book, the way it handles the issues of genetic selection of embryos and of how that child (and the rest of the family) would then feel is really clever - it's all done through the eyes of those involved, each chapter being narrated by a different character.
The ending was really good too, even though it made me cry and get my pillow all wet!

Putting into the no turn VBB on BCUK Extra.

Posting to abrokenstarr who took it out of the no turn bookbox.

Arrived yesterday. Thankyou.

Anna was born to look after her sister. The moment she was born, her cord blood was taken to Kate, to try and help her get over her leukaemia. Except, after years of donating blood and bone marrow, now that she is told to give a kidney for her sister, she's decided enough is enough. She employs a lawyer to fight for her medical emancipation.
The story is told from many points of view, Anna, her brother Jesse, the lawyer, the ad litem, and her parents. This is a style of storytelling that I like - the ability to see a story from different angles and feel more involved with each of those angles.
I really loved this book, although it made me cry not long before going to work. I'm going to wild release this I think.
