I'm getting you the Malaysian Flavour Magazine together with a small booklet features the best food & where to get it in town. Will get to send it out tomorrow. Thanks Minkymoo76 for the magazine & the book.

I have sent the book to CafeKat on the 10 July. Since I was not well for the last whole week, I did not journal it straight away after I sent the book out.
Anyway, I did tried a few of the recipes and it turn out great & yummy. I tried the Yummy Scrummy Carrot Cake, Banana Cake, Dark Chocolate & Orange Cake. But my kids just loves the Banana & Lemon Muffin & the Blackberry Muffin (I replaced it with Blueberry instead. it's kinda difficult to find blackberries here.) I forgot to sign on the page of the recipes I tried.
I kept some cookies recipes to try on soon as Aidil Fitri is coming soon in September. It's good to have some different kind of cookies for Raya as the normal Malay cookies are served at every Malay's house during Aidil Fitri.

I just returned home from a 9 day visit out of state and this little book was in my mail. I flipped thru it and I want to bake almost everything in it. I'll have to get started soon so that I can get it out to the next person in line. Thanks, Izzati for sending it to me and to Minkymoo for starting this ring! I hope LaRue will be patient, there are LOTS of things I want to try!
This was more than a cookbook for me. Being an American trying to follow the British instructions proved to be an adventure and real learning experience. I had to convert C to F. I also had to figure out what the different kinds of sugars were and find substitutes in some instances. There is a recipe for Smarties cookies...well friends, Smarties in the US are NOT the same as Smarties in the UK. We would use M&Ms. Our smarties are little colored, sweet/sour fruity flavored candies...not good cookie material! I absolutely LOVED this little book and the recipes are wonderful. I copied many that I didn't have the opportunity to try yet so that I could get the book on its way to LaRue.
Thanks again for the bookring and I look forward to getting an address to send along a "foodie" mag. to you, Minkymoo.
Will mail tomorrow......

Just received the book in today's mail, thanks! I've been to England many times and am used to cooking "British" despite living in America. I can't wait to bake some of these up! The first thing I will try is the Chocolate Cinnamon crumb cake - my husband's two favorite things are chocolate and spice. Sure enough, he paged through it quickly before and zeroed in on that one right away. Will try some things over the next two weeks and mark the pages, then will ship it on its way.
Edited on 4/5/08 - I've made so much more out of this book since getting my own copy. The pear/chocolate/hazelnut cake is divine! So are the banana walnut muffins. This has become the first book I grab when I want to bake.

I love this book so much that I preordered a copy for when it is released next month in the US! Contacting StrangeEmily for her address to send it on.
10/15/07 - Mailing to StrangeEmily - she's in Greece, so I'm sending this surface rate, may take some time to reach her.

I found this little delicious book in my post box yesterday. I paged it at once and then I called my boyfriend in Thessaloniki (600 km from Athens). He is coming next weekend to Athens and we agreed we'll make the nutella and nuts cake when he's here, because he's a big nutella fan.
I want to try almost everything, especially the purely British ones, to remind me of my student years in the UK. Unfortunately I'm allergic to walnuts, something I discovered when I ate a delicious special cake from York!
Thank you LaRue for sending this book from so far away, and thank you Minkymoo 76 for starting this great idea!
Please send me your address for the Greek magazine (I'll try to find one in English language).

I enjoyed every crunchy bit of it!
I found the cake with nutella irresistible and so did my partner! But my favourite was the apple, carrot and cinnamon cake.
The honey cake was good but it needed less eggs and maybe some nuts.
The last one I tried has a history now: it was the Chocolate Cinnamon Crumb Squares (page 86). I was distracted and forgot to add the flour (!!!) in the cake mix. I discovered this early enough and took the cake out of the oven, put it again in a bowl and mixed together the cale mix with the crumble topping mix, which was supposed to stay only on the top.
The result, however, was good!
We took the cake with us to a cafe in Athens, where Greek writers and journalists meet every Saturday. This time they had brought their children with them for a group photograph. That was a success! (The photo is of the place where these people meet)
The book is on its way to 061019Alexandra now!

Yippee, it's here!! I have been leafing through the recipes already and just wanted to run to the store to get the ingredients (I already did my shopping earlier today....). I found a few recipes for which I have everything at home (Walnut Oat and Anzac Biscuits, Yummy Scrummy Carrot Cake) and will make a choice tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing Minkymoo76! And thanks to all other cooks for their comments! I will add mine too!

Sorry, it's been with me a bit too long now. It will be in the mail today, on its way to Tournesol73!
I really enjoyed browsing through the book and it was even better to try out the recipes. Made the nutella cake twice! We also tried the Banana Teabread, Choca Mocca Caramel Cake (YUMMY!!!!) and the Smarties Cookies. I did not make the cakes mentioned in my previous JE, but I ordered the book, so I will do that in future!
Sharing a recipe book and adding comments is great fun and I will go through my own books to see if there is one I can share as a bookring too!
Enjoy, Tournesol73!

This mouth-watering little book is now with me - I can't wait to get started on some recipes! Thanks for sending it Tournesol73.
I've had this a month now so I'll quickly scan the recipes I'd like to keep and send it on it's way.
Thank you for sharing - shame we couldn't all get together and share our baking too! :o)

Yipee - it has arrived and I have been patient a long time looking forward to this, and it sure looks like it was worth waiting for from the pictures - thanks MinkyMoo and Mallary (hope your move went well!).
A nice little size with tempting photos...I have a few recipes in mind already and will try some of the ones without a comment yet. Maybe some to make for Christmas visits, good timing!

Returning the book back to MinkyMoo after it travelled the globe and after trying several recipes. It is going by surface mail so hope it doesn't take too long.
I bought kitchen scales to help with the UK preference for weight measurements, made a mistake between Celcius and Farenheit, had trouble finding marzipan here even at Christmas, but in the end had some tasty treats! I have also copied out the scone recipe for my British husband so he can have a taste of home every once in awhile (he especially misses treacle sponge and custard!)
Thank you for sharing!!
