I took this book from our local meet-up, apparently zzz already got so many other books that this was left behind. This is my first Coelho, about time to read one!

This was a good start for reading Coelho, a beuatiful book of love, finding yourself and following your instincts. Remarkably beautiful dialogue and many very profound, touching and pure moments. It has been a while since I have read a book where the story flows so effortlessly conveying so much emotion.

This book will now continue to erpax for her to release this abroad during her journey. The book is going to a city that will perfectly suit the themes of this story...

Bookgeo described yesterday this book so well that I just couldn't resist the temptation to read this book. So, I have now begun to read it. I think I still have time for it.

Many thanks Bookgeo! Hope you then will make the release notes.

Although this novel was about Maria’s self-discovery, at the same time, it discussed the eternal issues of mankind, such as the search for happiness in the struggle against loneliness, in the light of self-respect, dignity, love and sex.

The story was well-written. The thoughtful extracts from Maria’s diary - varying from naive insipidities to striking observations for her - gave a genuine impression. Among many other things in her diary, Maria justified her decision to become a prostitute. Instead of always making wrong decisions she was letting life decide for her. By comparing life to a roller coaster track, her god in-charge of the machine, she was really backing down over taking any responsibility of her decision. Still at the same time, she wrote that most people get on roller coaster to search for excitement, but once it starts, they are terrified and want the cars to be stopped. She was wondering what these people were expecting. Having chosen adventure, shouldn't these people be prepared to go the whole way? Did they think that by doing intelligent decisions they could avoid ups and downs in their lives? I don't know but I see some discrepancy in this logic...

Anyway, from the very beginning of the story one (at least I) had to know what life had to offer for Maria. Luckily, Coelho's beautiful, almost poetic, writing (at least the English translation) was still easy and fast to read. I enjoyed reading it.

Released one month ago at Cafe Lef? That's not where I found it, I found it yesterday at OBCZ-Mulligans!

I have read most books by Coelho and I liked most of them. The one I really really liked was 'Veroncia Decides to Die'. But I have not read this one yet, so fortunately I found this book, thanks to some BookCrossers from Finland. Thank you very much! I intend to read the book and release it again.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I've changed my mind about reading this book. I've decided I'm fed up for the moment with Paulo Coelho - as the only book I really liked thus far was Veronica Decides to Die, and I did not really like three other ones. As I have enough other books to read at the moment, I'll take this book back to Mulligans-bar for someone else to enjoy!

My first Paulo Coelho, I enjoyed it very much and will look out for more. Captured at Mulligans bar, Amstel Graght Amsterdam. Good Bar! Lovely people, great Music and now great books! I will be releasing it at the central library in Plymouth for it's next epic journey.
