When Tracey Mortimer spots an advertisement from a TV company offering the chance for a school reunion (to be filmed, of course), she jumps at the chance. After all, she LOVED school and not because she shone academically. She ruled the place; everyone was terrified of her, including the teachers. But now with a dreary life and kids who bore as well as disappoint her and a husband who’s worse, Tracey looks back longingly to her schooldays.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes a bully tick and what presses their buttons, this book provides an insight. It can’t have been easy creating such a heroine and make her a sympathetic character but I found myself rooting for her - which is testimony to Harrison’s skill as a writer. As someone who was bullied by a Tracey-like character at school, it was sometimes hard going, but in the end affirming - my life has moved on and I've grown and become fulfilled and happy - my tormentors quite probably haven't if Tracey is typical.

This book will probably get pigeon-holed as "chick lit" but it's actually superior to most of the genre.

Off to friend on mine - one I've never met, so this book has an advantage over me already!
