RELEASE NOTES:

Elizabeth Berg creates people, not characters.

The people of Open House are no different. They are flesh and blood individuals...they live across the street, they shop at the same market, they go to the same school.

Samantha Morrow's world is thrown into a tailspin when her husband David walks out on their marriage and their eleven year old son, Travis. Sam has relied on David for everything. He worked in the corporate world, she worked in the house. He had business meetings, she had parent-teacher meetings.

In order to pay the mortgage, Sam takes in roommates. What she learns from them, and ultimately from herself, is the crux of this warm and very real novel.

Bringing Open House to our monthly meetup and hoping to given it a new home.

I liked this book very much. It was quick to read and a good study of a woman putting her life back together in the aftermath of her husband's departure.

Thanks for the surprise RABCK! I love getting unexpected books in the mail...especially when they're books that I wanted to read.

Instead of just throwing this onto Mt. TBR I actually read it right away and enjoyed it thoroughly. It seems that a lot of folks that have reviewed it on Amazon didn't love it...saying that the lead character was kinda a whiner. I, however, thought that she was very well written and could totally identify with her. I believe I even had a real live tear trickle down my cheek a couple of times.

Well worth reading!
