Sold: Story of Modern-day Slavery

I remember reading about this in the papers some years ago. Two young teenaged sisters were taken on 'holiday' from Birmingham to Yemen. Unknown to the girls, their father had sold them as brides, and they were taken to live in remote villages with a very primitive way of life.
Unlike parts of Malika Oufkir's story in 'La Prisonniere' this does all ring true. Zana recounts her experiences with dignity and humility, and although she managed to return to England, her sister, Nadia, is still in Yemen, apparently settled in her life.
Although Zana has since written another book about this, to find out more about the story, click on the link below and decide yourself.
