The Devil Wears Prada

I'm not sure if this is poorly written or I just couldn't stand the subject matter. The central theme was repeated on *every single page* & I felt like hurling the book at the wall & giving the "heroine" a good shake. I skimmed the last 100 pages.
Unrealistic shallow lives all round, & the ending is deeply unsatisfying. The selfish 'heroine' has escaped the devil only to grin at the poor sod left in her place. Ok, so she got a better job at the end of it, but geez - she probably could have done that after 1 week in hell.
ARGHHHHHH!

Caught at a Sydney meet-up. I found this book much better than the movie. The characters are a lot more fleshed out and less black and white. I've passed this on to a friend.
